The sound of bagpipes at dawn on Grandfather Mountain, NC with my husband

Favorite Operatic Baritone?
Luciano Pavarotti

Anywhere the wind takes me

Spring & Summer: kayaking with my family in the Finger Lakes region. Also, my husband and I are motorcycle enthusiasts. Every chance we get we’re traveling on our motorcycles.

You think the world would be a better place if:
We embraced our differences and exercised more patience with each another.

Favorite quote?
A man who as a physical being is always turned toward the outside, thinking that his happiness lies outside him, finally turns inward and discovers that the source is within him. —Soren Kierkegaard

It would surprise people to know that:
Right after college, I was interested in being a helicopter pilot. My plan was to successfully acquire a commercial pilot’s license. Instead, I pursued my advanced scuba diving certification, traveled to the British Virgin Islands to experience diving among a staggering array of fish, stingrays, and green turtles. Most of my dives were along the pristine coral reefs of Flat Cay, Castles and Sail Rock. Did I mention that sharks and eels were always popping up just as I felt comfortable in their underwater environment?

Your other passions are:
Helping those that are less fortunate and/or without health insurance by soliciting pharmaceutical companies to provide free prescription medication.

Suddenly blessed with a day off and no limitations of time, space or cash, you would:

  1. Travel to Cuzco, Peru. This Incan capital is over 11,000 feet high in the Andes Mountains. It’s the center for trekking the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu.
  2. Go white water rafting on the Urubamba, explore the Amazon, or climb the snow-capped peaks surrounding the area.
  3. My next stop would be Cabarete-Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) for kitesurfing and scuba diving the clear, turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Then in the evening set sail on our 100 foot yacht to watch the sunset with my family.

how the world comes to love you
